Distance Bus Travel Assistance

Distance Bus Travel Assistance for students living more than 3.2km for primary (years prep-6) or 4.8km for secondary (years 7-12) by the shortest trafficable route from their nearest state school. Non-state school students must live more than the required distance from both the nearest state school and non-state of the type attended. Safety Net Bus Travel Assistance

Safety Net Bus Travel Assistance students who do not meet the distance requirements listed above must be listed as a dependant on the applicant’s Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card. Students who have a card issued in their own name or are subject to a Child Protection Order may also qualify for Safety-Net assistance. Replacing a Lost Bus Pass

Providing the student has not moved schools or home, a replacement bus pass can be purchased from your bus driver at a cost of $16.80 PAYABLE IN CASH ONLY. The driver will issue a receipt for the $16.80.

The receipt is to be used as a temporary bus pass until the replacement pass has been issued. Student to carry & show this receipt until new pass is collected. The replacement bus pass will be sent to your school for collection within five working days.

If the student in your care does not hold a valid bus pass then the full fare must be paid, either in cash to the driver or by utilising a TransLink go card. Information on timetables, fares and go cards is available from TransLink at;
