Are some 2007 bus passes still valid in 2008 |
|
Only Safety Net 2007 bus passes will still be valid for use on buses until end of March 2008 or until the new pass is distributed. |
5. |
Where will the 2008 bus passes be sent to?” |
|
During the busy period (generally until the mid-end of March) the new passes will be sent to the students’ schools. |

Who needs to reapply to receive a 2007 pass? |
|
- Safety Net applicants will receive a Renewal form from Queensland Transport during December 2007 (if you were a Safety Net approved applicant in 2006 and haven’t received a renewal form, please contact Queensland Transport)
- New grade 8 students need to reapply for a new bus pass.
- Anyone who has had a change of address or change of school without notifying QT or Surfside Buslines needs to reapply.

I have applied for a bus pass but haven’t heard anything |
|
- If you have applied through the Safety Net scheme, you will receive a letter from Queensland Transport stating if you have (or have not) been approved. If you have, please allow one week, the pass will then be sent by Surfside Buslines to the attended school (until end of March) and your child can pick it up from there.
- Your child’s new pass could have already been sent to the attended school, please contact the school.
- If you have recently moved or the student has changed school (or is entering secondary grade), you will need to fill out a new application form.

The student has lost the bus pass, the student had his/her bus pass stolen ; how can we get a new one? |
|
Assuming that you have not changed address or that the student is still attending the same school, then a replacement can be purchased. $12.30 can be paid to any bus driver, the student needs to ask for a “replacement pass”, the driver will take the student’s particulars and give a receipt. The child is to keep the receipt (proof of payment, receipt can be used to travel on bus for 5 days), a new bus pass will then be posted out by our school travel administration office.
PS: prices are subject to increase during the financial year. |

The student paid the driver for a replacement bus pass over a week ago and we still haven’t received anything? |
|
In order for the School Travel Administration Officer to trace your payment, please contact us via email schools@surfside.com.au or our main office at Molendinar. State your child’s receipt number as you will be asked to give some precise information on when and where the ticket was purchased. Please try to remember when the student paid the driver (morning / afternoon / date / bus shift or route / time) as this will help. |

We have received a new bus pass but the student still has to pay a fare on the bus |
|
In some cases the student’s travel from home to school is not going to be entirely covered by the bus travel assistance scheme, this is often due to the distance traveled or the fact that the student is not attending the closest school. If the pass that you have received has red writing, then a “top up fare” will have to be paid. This fare can be paid directly to the driver each way, daily or weekly (if you choose to pay daily or weekly, make sure that the student keeps the receipt to show the driver next time he/she boards the bus). |

No Bus Pass? |
|
- Whether you live in QLD, if the student does not have a valid bus pass, he/she must pay the appropriate student bus fare.
- If you have been deemed ineligible for bus travel assistance, the student is to pay the appropriate student bus fare, shall he/she choose to travel on the bus.
-If you want to dispute your eligibility, please contact Queensland Transport. Queensland Transport,
